THE PRIORY SCHOOL | Montreal, Canada

The Priory School opened in 1947
with 25 students, in "Le Manoir".
My Dad worked for FDR for his entire long administration, from 1933 to 1945. In the last year, he was sent by the Budget Bureau to cover the United Nations. He was picked to be Secretary to the Provisional International Civil Aviation Organization (PICAO), and when ICAO was permanently formed, he was invited to be a staff member.

So we all moved to Montreal, first for a year in Lachine. I attended a school there.

We then moved to Argyle Avenue in Westmount, and I attended St Leo's School for two years and then the Priory School, a Catholic private day school located in "Le Manoir" in NĂ´tre Dame de Grace.  The school was founded by Frances Ballantyne and Alphonsine (usually known as "Phonsine") Howlett. My younger sister Elisabeth went to The Study.
